The Ejiwa Elegba Iru Festival commenced on Friday with the inauguration of the rebuilt Agbo Elegba Ejiwa arena in Iru, Lagos State.
The Oba Omogbolahan Lawal led the ceremony, which was attended by traditional rulers, government officials, cultural custodians, and community leaders.
Dignitaries and residents gathered at the historic site, marking a significant moment in the preservation of Iru’s cultural and spiritual heritage.
Speaking at the event, the Oniru stated, “The reconstruction of the Agbo Elkegba symbolises our commitment to preserving cultural heritage while embracing modern development.”
The Oniru described the arena, now with a sitting capacity of about 2,000, as “a sacred structure representing protection, guidance, and the spiritual gateway of the community.”
