There’s a growing urgency across Nigeria’s financial space, credit decisions are getting tougher, and the cost of getting them wrong is even higher. In response, the National Institute of Credit Administration (NICA), chartered, recently brought professionals together in Lagos for a 2-day seminar on Credit Risk Management Best Processes and Practice.
Held on March 25th and 26th at the institute’s conference room, the session was not just another training, it was a timely intervention. Participants engaged deeply with the realities of credit risk today, from understanding its different forms to learning how to assess and manage it more deliberately.
What stood out was the practical approach. Facilitators, Dr. Isaac Makilolo, FICA and Dr. Adekunle Adegbie, FICA, moved beyond theory, sharing real world insights and frameworks that professionals can actually use in their day to day roles.
At a time when institutions are under pressure to reduce credit defaults and improve performance, conversations like these are not just important, they are necessary. And that is exactly what this training delivered, clarity, structure, and a renewed sense of direction for those responsible for credit decisions.
The good news is that another opportunity is right around the corner!!
The next session comes up on April 28th and 29th 2026, on ‘How Credit Guarantee Scheme Operations Interfaces with Lending Institutions and Borrowing Companies: Their Specific Duties, Obligations, Responsibilities, and Preparedness’.
If you are in the credit space or make financial decisions that carry risk, this is one you should not sit out.
