CREDIT AS THE ENERGY SOURCE OF AN ECONOMY

4. What The Professor Of Credit Management Say About Professional Qualifications

Nigeria turns out about 60,000 graduates every year with bachelor’s degrees/HNDs in different fields. This achievement marks the beginning of a journey towards academic success. Some graduates continue their pursuit of learning to the master’s degree level, while others move on to doctorate after their master’s.

As a person successfully scale through the rigors of earning a bachelor’s/ HND, master’s and doctorate degrees, there comes the celebration of achieving academic milestones. Regardless, there is still another giant hurdle standing in the way. If this hurdle can be overcome, then, true celebration can take place. Although the academic achievement prepares the way to excel in the next move, no matter how intractable it might yet be, the absence of it can tremendously weaken the importance of academic achievement. You may be wondering what is this hurdle?is it “ a professional qualification”.? Yes! You got it right!

Professional qualifications demonstrate a level of expertise and competence in a specific field or profession. Holding a professional qualification enhances an individual’s credibility and reputation in his or her industry as many employers require or prefer candidates with professional qualifications, making it easier to secure job opportunities. Also, a Professional qualification is a key factor in career advancement; it demonstrates a level of commitment and expertise. It’s a lifelong endowment that provide opportunities to network with other professionals in thesame field, which often require ongoing education and training; helping individuals stay up-to-date with the latest developments in the field.

Another interesting thing about having an excellent professional qualification in a strong field such as credit administration management, is that, it makes employers more confident in the abilities and expertise of employees with such qualifications. This is the key factor in this matter! Reason being that employees with professional qualifications are often perceived as better equipped to perform their jobs more effectively than those with only academic qualifications, even if they hold a master’s or doctorate degree. No one can blame employers for giving priority to candidates with professional qualifications who constantly undergo professional skills development programmes organized by their professional bodies to keep them abreast with latest and enduring trends in the market place.

Therefore, achieving a professional qualification is a prime accomplishment as it opens up much bigger career opportunities and advancement than for those without, especially when it comes from a professional body established by law.

In summary, professional qualification are valuable asset for both individuals and employers, demonstrating expertise, enhancing credibility, and open up new opportunities.
