The Institute’s mandate under the Parliamentary Act is to provide training, certification, professional development skills, and advocacy for credit management professionals, and to promote the culture and create awareness for responsible consumer and corporate credit business practices in Nigeria.
The Registrar/CEO of the Institute, Professor Chris Onalo stated that the objectives of the project are to enhance NICA’S institutional capacity to deliver high-quality training, certification, professional skills development, and advocacy programmes in credit management, and building a world-class NICA corporate headquarters, and technology enhancement; emphasizing that the project will contribute significantly to the promotion and development of a robust credit ecosystem in Nigeria and Africa for consumer credit culture, financial inclusion and access to credit by MSME’s and underserved sectors.
